Halifax Hawks Peewee B Red team win the division title at the 2009 Alan Floyd Tournament.

The Hawks opened the tournament with a 2-1 win VS Bedford White. Next game was a tough 3-2 loss to Cole Harbour. Day two of the tournament saw Halifax facing elimination in a game VS a gritty and determined Eastern Shore team. The Hawks pulled off a 5-1 win to move their record to 2-1 after the round robin and holding second seed moving into the cross over games. Halifax moved to the tournament Championship game by breezing by Bedford Blue in a 5-1 lop sided affair featuring a four goal effort by Halifax winger Patrick Burt. The tournament Championship game had two inspired opponents, once again Halifax was facing Cole Harbour. Late in the game, Halifax fought off an extended 2 man Cole Harbour advantage to hang on to a narrow one goal advantage with a 2-1 final score. As with any championship title, this one took a full team effort with all players contributing in all aspects of the game. Strong offensive play, solid defense and outstanding goal tending were all key components of the championship win. This victory was a good character win. Congratulations Peewee B Red on a great win.
