HALIFAX HAWKS RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS
Hockey NS Regulation 4 defines the residency requirements for all Minor Hockey Associations (MHA).
New & Returning Players eligible to register with the Halifax Hawks MUST reside within the following limits:
- All of Peninsular Halifax, including postal codes B3H, B3J, B3K, B3L, but EXCLUDING the B3L zone on the west side of Joseph Howe Dr from the Armdale Roundabout to Highway 102 (Bicentennial Highway);
- The Fairview portion of the B3N Postal Code, which is to the north of the Bicentennial Highway;
- Clayton Park, and all of the B3M Postal Code;
- All of the B3S Postal Code between the Bicentennial Highway and the Bedford Basin.
If your home is not within this region, you have to register with another MHA. Other MHAs in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) include:
PLAYERS NEW TO THE HAWKS
Players new to the Hawks should download a Registration Package that will answer most questions, and includes a blank registration form. There is NO Late Fee for players new to the Hawks. Recreational players can register until the end of September, provided space is still available in their age group. Note that Competitive Team Tryouts for Atom to Midget begin in early September. Once on-ice programs begin, please contact the Registrar to determine if registration is still open in your age group.

RETURNING PLAYERS & REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Pre-Printed Registration Forms for Returning Hawks players were mailed July 26 to the address on last year's registration form, unless the Registrar was subsequently advised by email, Registrar@HalifaxHawks.com.
Registration Forms for Returning Hawks players must be received/postmarked by Sunday, August 15, 2010. Forms from Returning Players submitted after this date will be assessed a $30 late fee.
If you lose or do not receive your package in the mail, download a Registration Package, which includes a blank Registration Form. The $30 late fee still applies to forms received/postmarked after Sunday, August 15, 2010.
HAWKS PROGRAMS
The Hawks offer six month programs in minor recreational, minor competitive, and female competitive hockey starting in late September / early October, and ending in late March.
Male and Female Players born between 1993 & 2001 have the opportunity to represent the Hawks in various competitive leagues against teams from other associations. Tryouts for these teams will start AFTER the Labour Day weekend. The checking clinic begins on Labour Day Monday evening.
Midget Tryouts will start in late September, after High School teams have been selected.
Female Tryouts will be scheduled as required based on the number of players registered in each division.
The Hawks no longer offer a Bantam AAA program due to the introduction of the Hockey Nova Scotia Major Bantam Hockey League. For more information on the Halifax Major Bantam Hockey Club and the League, please go to:

REGISTRATION OFFICE HOURS
The Hawks office at Centennial Arena, 27 Vimy Ave, Fairview, will be open at various times in August & September for in‑person registration assistance. Times will be posted here when the schedule is finalized.
Centennial Office Hours;
August 16 - 9am - 1 pm & 6 - 8pm.
August 17 - 9am - 1 pm.
August 18 - 9am - 1pm.
August 23 - 9am - 1pm.
August 24 - 9am - 1pm.
September 2 - 1 - 4pm.
September 7 - 2 - 5pm.
September 8 - 1 - 5pm.
LATE FEES FOR RETURNING HAWKS PLAYERS - $30.00
Please understand that completed forms can be returned by mail, or dropped off through the mail slot in the door at the Centennial Arena Hawks office at any time. Your registration does not have to be submitted in person.
